Whirlow Brook Park

Sheffield S11 9QD, United Kingdom
What We Offer:

Whirlow Brook Park is a landscaped garden of 39 acres in Whirlow, Sheffield, which are open to the public, containing Whirlow Brook Hall. It stretches from Ecclesall Road and joins on to Limb Brook Valley heading towards the Peak District, with an entrance to Whinfell Quarry Garden. Whirlow Brook Hall was built in 1906 by Percy Fawcett, a director of Thomas Firth & Sons, with an elevated terrace giving fine views over Ecclesall Woods to Abbeydale. In 1920 the house was sold to his sister, Lily Marguerite ‘Madge’, who was married to Sir Walter Benton Jones, the son of a baronet and chairman/managing director of the United Steel Companies. They were keen gardeners and working with the Royal Horticultural Society along with six staff developed the grounds to include a Japanese rock garden, shrubberies and the lakes.

Lovely house with picturesque gardens ideal as a small wedding venue. The house is lacking character and would benefit from some pictures as most of the period features have been removed. Very nice wedding breakfast and good service.
Nice and peaceful well kept park.
Only drove through but looked like it had some really nice walks and beautiful scenery.

This park is absolutely massive which is a great thing as a local to the area. There’s plenty to look at and there are 2 playgrounds here for kids to play at. The wildlife around here is always fascinating to look at, especially the bats at night. Also a great place to have a walk if you need to get out and exercise.
Excellent park ..ride thru here regularly on E-bike lovely oasis in one of the rougher areas of the steel city beautiful duck pond. Best part of the manor/manor Park but only my opinion. Captured the ducks at long last.
What a fun park. There is a Parkrun on Saturday mornings and there’s a wonderful second hand clothes shop and a craft group within the York House community centre. It’s got a couple of play areas and some brilliant views over Sheffield.

Firth Park

441 Firth Park Rd, Sheffield S5 6HH, United Kingdom
What We Offer:

Firth Park is a Green Flag award winning park in the North East area of Sheffield and it is the city’s first publicly owned park. Steel Manufacturer and former Lord Mayor Mark Firth, one of Sheffield’s most famous sons, gifted the park to the people of the city (then a town) in 1875. Our 15 hectare mixed use green space is well loved and well used by the vibrant, multi-cultural community surrounding it, and which takes its name from the park itself. Firth Park is a Heritage Park and it’s one of 13 City Parks in Sheffield, classed as being a destination in its own right. It is managed by Sheffield City Council’s Parks & Countryside department with voluntary groups like the Friends of Firth Park. Accessed from the Firth Park Road entrance, the playground has plenty of equipment so kids under 12 can have fun with their friends and work off some of that spare energy.
