John Heath was born in 1835 and had been in business in Sheffield for a number of years. We were the first firm of Funeral Directors in the provinces to build a Private Chapel. We now have a dozen individual Private Chapels of Rest adjacent to main Chapel where a deceased person can be kept in a reverent manner until the time of a Funeral, and where bereaved families can visit in an atmosphere of quiet dignity. More recently, In John Heath & Sons’ second century the Heath family and Staff aim to maintain the personal attention, caring approach and sense of vocation which have characterised the operation of the firm over the past 135 years.

On the day of the funeral the service John Heath provided was perfect we requested a horse drawn hearse for the day and their funeral director and staff were there at every step of the way showing an outstanding level of devotion and dedication to their roles, from the family home to the church then to the cemetery every detail was handled to a first-class level of service.
After a very traumatic time leading up to my husband passing away, having John Heath and Sons recommended to me by a close friend was a really positive experience. They looked after us as a family with such gentleness and care every step of the way, from the planning of the funeral to the actual day. They guided us through the day quietly and compassionately at every turn making the awful circumstances so much easier to bear. Thank you everyone. Our experience of John Heath and Sons has been excellent, by guiding us through the difficult process of Mum’s funeral with experience and compassion. On the day of the funeral, upsetting though it was, everything went smoothly. I think it would be hard to better their professionalism.

H Keetons did my Mum’s funeral today so friendly and professional and a very caring family business, God forbid we will use them again.
Keetons organised a funeral for me during the height of the pandemic, when the country was locked down comprehensively. Everything went smoothly, from the collection of the deceased at the other end of England, through assistance with choosing a coffin and floral tributes, to the burial itself.
We can’t thank them enough for taking care of everything regarding Dad’s recent funeral at St Lawrence Church in Tinsley. All our dealings with Joanne and Paul ran smoothly from start to finish.
