Hallam FC

What We Offer:

Located in a leafy suburb of Sheffield 10 to the West of the city centre and some 800 feet above sea level lies Sandygate Road, officially the oldest football ground in the World and home of Hallam FC since 1860, thus making them the second oldest football club in the World to Sheffield FC. After the formation of Hallam Cricket club in 1804 by the landlord of the Plough Inn the club blossomed. By the 1850’s it had more than three hundred members. Many of these members, familiar with the team football being played by Sheffield FC (formed in 1857), wished to create a less exclusive club led by cricketers. Thus in 1860, Hallam FC was born. The first ever challenge match took place against Sheffield FC on Boxing Day 1860 at Sandygate Road. This is still believed to be the first ever Inter Club game and the oldest to survive until today.

Just want to say a big thank you to @HallamFC1860 for hosting @OfficialBuryAFC today and to everyone involved with the club especially the volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day. Spoke with some lovely and very friendly people.

Arrived at the ground early made very welcome. This club is what non league footballs all about great volunteers some been with the club years like the lady doing tea and coffee in the club house. She was very interesting to talk to . Nice set up and the oldest football ground in the world. 14 foot slope from one goal to the other.

What a warm and friendly welcome we received from everyone. There was a children’s birthday party going on when we arrived. They didn’t stop us getting a drink at the bar, just asked us to wait outside until the party had finished. The alcohol is reasonably priced and so is the food. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon watching grassroots football.

Sheffield United Academy

What We Offer:

We are the oldest ‘United’ playing football at professional level in the game. The club was formed to be a major force in the fast growing game of the time, and within a decade of its birth, Sheffield United had won the League Championship (1897/98), won the forerunner of the Charity Shield, then known as the ‘Sheriff’s Shield’ and the FA Cup in 1899 – an incredible number of major honours in a short space of time. In 1904 the club became the only one to this day in the top flight of the English game to field a starting 11 of full England international players. United would also go on to win the FA Cup on a further three occasions, playing in six finals. The Blades have also finished runners-up in the top flight on two other occasions and remain one of only a handful of clubs who have won every title in the League structure, culminating with lifting the League One trophy under Chris Wilder in 2017.

We have supplied sports equipment to S. U. F. C. & The FA over a number of years. The pitches for the SUFC Academy always look immaculate.

Very nice academy with good facilities and security and parking.

From reception area to pitches, top notch venue. Staff great and so helpful to visitors as well as kids too. Made my 7yr old boy feel so relaxed and just helped him as parents not allowed with them. Cafe great too.

What We Offer:

All teams play at St Georges Park – Thorncliffe which is the second football hub to open as part of the FA Parklife Programme. The FA and partners are focussed on significantly investing in and improving the provision and quality of grassroots facilities across the UK. Our 3G artificial grass pitches offer year-round all-weather play, making frozen and waterlogged surfaces a thing of the past! This allows us to offer football at flexible times, in-keeping with the demands of a modern footballer. The centre is run and maintained using a self-sustaining model through the newly formed Sheffield Football Trust. Leisure facilities operator Pulse are responsible for strategic business operation of the facilities and have appointed Leisure United, a Charitable Trust, to operate the centre on a day to day basis. This ensures that profits are reinvested to further enhance the facilities.

Lukes been going since last year for the football half term clubs he lives it lots of fun and he has his dinner there too.

Great place to let off some steam and have a awesome kick about.

A bit hard to find but got there in the end.
